Herb Adderley was more than just an elite athlete, he was a scholar. He emphasized the importance of academics to every young athlete he encountered. He attended and graduated from Michigan State University prior to being drafted into the NFL. As a student athlete at MSU, Herb was one of seven charter members of Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi
Herb Adderley was more than just an elite athlete, he was a scholar. He emphasized the importance of academics to every young athlete he encountered. He attended and graduated from Michigan State University prior to being drafted into the NFL. As a student athlete at MSU, Herb was one of seven charter members of Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He always signed autographs encouraging youth athletes, "Respect God, your parents and yourself. Always give 100% to studies." He quietly helped many young men and women financially with tuition; therefore the foundation will award an annual scholarship to deserving student in his name.

- High School senior committed to a 4-year college/university or currently enrolled college student matriculating at a 4-year college/university
- 2.7 GPA or above
- Must have community service beyond required hours
- Current District of Columbia resident
- Prove financial need
- Short essay

Michael Settles graduated from Ron Brown College Preparatory High School in Washington, DC. He is currently a sophomore at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. Michael is majoring in Marine Biology.
He is the perfect recipient of the 1st annual HA26 Foundation Scholarship. Michael is thriving at VUU and is beating all of the odds that have been stacked against him.
